Community Projects

Sharing our accomplishments and contributing to others’ lives are important factors in growing our sense of self-worth. With that in mind, our activities will include the following:

Book sales run by you, Oasis youth. You’ll collect and sort multi-lingual donations, and learn useful administrative aspects (publicity, bookkeeping, organizing materials). You will be able to keep one book for yourself and family, plus choose one book for our Oasis library.

You’ll have an opportunity to help build a wooden bookshelf for our library—and learn how to build how to build one for home.

Donations to nonprofits, especially for youth. You might contribute proceeds or material goods from our Project Oasis farm stands (selling flowers or crops, or your handicrafts) to local charitable organizations that you care about—saving trees, animal welfare, and so on.

Or you may choose to make “Thinking of you” cards for kids with cancer (our local Jacob’s Heart welcomes these) or other challenges.

Performances. You may contribute artistically to our community. We will welcome donations for the musicians, actors, dancers, and writers performing at our Oasis retreat.
